Rowan Medical Center's Diabetes and Nutrition Outpatient Services assist people with diabetes management and nutrition education. Our programs are recognized by the American Diabetes Association as meeting the national standards of diabetes self-management training.
We offer a variety of educational opportunities for you to learn about your diabetes. Our Diabetes and Nutrition Outpatient Services can help you decide which program suits your educational needs. We offer nutritional assessments and education for diabetes and other types of diseases and medical conditions.
Programs and Training
Comprehensive Diabetes Education Program
This ten-hour group program is designed to provide in-depth education on managing diabetes.
Diabetes Refresher Program
Gestational Diabetes/Diabetes and Pregnancy Program
This program provides in-depth education on managing gestational diabetes and preexisting diabetes and pregnancy.
Intensive Diabetes Management Training
This program includes:
- Insulin Instruction
- Carbohydrate counting
- Insulin pump evaluation and training.
Monthly Diabetes Support Group
Medical Nutrition Therapy (MNT)
This program provides personalized nutritional assessment and instruction for diabetes and other medical conditions. Rowan Medical Center Diabetes and Nutrition Outpatient Services offers this program to those who are at risk for nutritional complications, have diabetes or other medical conditions.
