Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteering at Rowan Regional
Volunteers at Rowan Regional Medical Center serve in over 21 areas of the hospital by assisting patients and visitors, and contribute approximately 22,000 hours of service each year.
Volunteers also help out in nursing units, family waiting rooms and help with special projects and work in offices. In addition, a specially trained group of registered nurse volunteers conducts a weekly blood pressure clinic.
Volunteer Programs at Rowan Regional
The volunteer program at Rowan Regional Medical Center can find its roots in the Rowan Regional Auxiliary, which began in 1936.
Today, volunteers serve in many departments within Rowan Regional Medical Center. We are always seeking new volunteers who enjoy interacting with people and serving others.
Adult volunteers may:
*Visit patients to ask about non-medical needs and offer emotional support
*Serve as reception and information clerks
*Assist visitors and patients with directions
*Transport patients throughout the hospitals
*Assist in hospital gift shops
Each volunteer completes an application, has an interview, attends an orientation class, completes a health screening and receives training in the designated area before he or she begins to volunteer.
It may be one of the best investments you ever make!
TEENS
For teens ages 14-18, our Junior Volunteer Program offers an opportunity to serve after school and during the summer. They are trained and supervised by an experienced Junior Volunteer Coordinator. College students also donate their time during the school year and summer by serving in a variety of departments where they can observe the delivery of healthcare services to patients and families.
