As
you get through menopause, one year after you have stopped getting
your menstrual period, you enter the postmenopausal stage of your
life. This can be a liberating time for you, relieved of the symptoms
associated with menopause but happy to not have periods and to not
have the possibility of getting pregnant. Your body has changed significantly
which means that you have some specific health concerns that you
must consider at this time in your life. The risks of other diseases
such as stroke, breast and ovarian cancer are thought to increase
after menopause as well, especially for women with certain lifestyles,
and family and medical histories.
