Menopause
brings with it certain unwelcome vaginal changes. Because of the
drop of levels of estrogen in your body, you may experience dryness.
Also, the tissues lining your vagina and urethra (opening to your
bladder) become thin and less taut. These changes may contribute
to burning and itchiness. You may also experience a higher incidence
of urinary tract
or vaginal infections. The good news is you can
expect to experience fewer issues with vaginal discharge. The flip
side is that your sex life may be less comfortable without lubrication.
