Aerobic
exercise, also referred to as cardio workout, is the best for your
heart and cardiovascular system. Aerobic exercise can also help you
lose weight, reduce stress levels, strengthen your immune system
and reduce the risk of other diseases. Aerobic exercise uses large
muscle groups, such as your legs, while increasing your heart rate
and breathing. Aerobic exercise allows your body to burn calories
by using up energy you have stored up. Some health professionals
advise that if you want to burn fat, you choose an aerobic activity
that is moderately intense but takes longer, such as walking or swimming,
so that your body will burn fat calories rather than carbohydrate
calories in glycogen.
With aerobic exercise, you will increase your
stamina. The exercise may make you tired at first, but eventually
you will notice that
you can last longer. You will build a stronger, more efficient
heart by allowing your heart rate to lower. You will also tone
muscles
during aerobic exercise, because you improve the oxygen flow
throughout your body. There are many different types of aerobic
exercise, including:
- Jogging
- Walking
- Hiking
- Swimming
- Biking
- Treadmill
- Elliptical machine
- Spinning
